Visit the Costa del Cumbria!

Visit the Costa del Cumbria

Visit the Costa del Cumbria!

The past couple of years have seen a growing trend. Brits are taking their holidays at home in the UK. And Covid is only half the story. After all, foreign tourists have been heading to this country for as long as overseas travel has been affordable. Tourism is big business for Britain. So it’s hardly surprising that when hopping on a plane became much less straightforward, many Brits discovered they actually like holidays at home.

After all, Britain has a wealth of attractions. And it’s not just about Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. There are fascinating stories to be discovered in castles, cathedrals and stately homes all over the country. There is an abundance of culture to enjoy, from the traditional to the trendy. Morris dancing to mosh pits. And with not one but four nations to choose from, Britain offers a wide range of natural landscapes, from the Scottish highlands to the beaches of Cornwall.

Holiday lettings in Cumbria

One of the UK’s very favourite holiday destinations is the Lake District in Cumbria. It offers beautiful scenery, friendly pubs, restaurants and tea rooms and plenty to do. You can enjoy fell walking, visiting museums and other attractions or simply messing about in boats. Or indeed shopping for antiques and local crafts in the many charming towns and villages. No wonder so many Brits love a holiday cottage in the Lakes.

But there is more to Cumbria than the Lake District National Park. On the west coast, there are gorgeous beaches. Just outside the national park to the east are thriving market towns like Kendal and Penrith, while the cathedral city of Carlisle lies to the north. And off the beaten track to Cumbria’s northeast, you can find the lovely Eden Valley. Handy as a base for exploring the Lake District to the west or the Pennines to the east, the Eden Valley is also well worth exploring in its own right.

Eden Grove: a Cumbrian idyll

Eden Grove is a beautiful new residential lettings development just outside the market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland in the heart of the Eden Valley. It boasts a range of comfortable and stylish modern apartments in and around a beautifully adapted historic building. The perfect holiday letting for anyone looking for a truly great British holiday. And there is as much to see and do in the surrounding area as any overseas resort has to offer.

The Eden Valley’s quiet roads are very popular with cyclists. Whether you are a seasoned racer or a beginner, Eden Grove is an excellent base for a cycling holiday. There is also plenty of fishing to be had: salmon, seatrout and brown trout. While your days away on the banks of the beautiful River Eden. And then take your catch home to cook in your fully-equipped kitchen! And of course no rural idyll is complete without the sweet sound of birdsong. The Eden Valley is also a major draw for birdwatchers. So Eden Grove is perfect for twitchers looking to spend some quality time with the birds. But equally pleasant for anyone who simply enjoys spotting the odd goldfinch.

All in all, Eden Grove is a fantastic option for anyone looking for something a little different. It has everything you could ask for in a great British holiday. Handy for the Lake District but without the crowds, it could be Cumbria’s best kept secret.
